Client/Server Installation on Linux

Hi,

we purchased a Client/Server distribution package of 1C:Enterprise and try to set it up on an Ubuntu Server (64-bit). However, we are experiencing some problems. The server got installed without any errors. We then also installed two clients, one on an Ubuntu and the other on a Windows machine. We followed the "Software License Acquisition Guide" for installing server and multi-user licenses. That also seems to worked since two license files (*.lic) occurred in the corresponding directory of our server. Afterwards, we have been able to connect to the server with our clients running the Designer mode. The Designer seems to work well, but when trying to run the application, we get an error message saying that the libWand.so library could not be found (see attached image). For setting up our Ubuntu Server we followed the "Administrator Guide" as well as the "Client/Server Administrator Guide" and installed the required libraries (for instance, ImageMagick etc. with versions higher than suggested).

Is there any log file written that can be used to debug the problem? What are we missing?

Many thanks,
Saman

Hello Saman,
We are aware of the similar issue happening in earlier versions of 1C.
Please advise what version of 1C you are using and can you please try it with the latest versions of both: 8.3.5 and 8.3.6?

Thank you.

Currently we are using: 1C:Enterprise platform 8.3 v. 8.3.6.2152
Do I have to take care of activated licenses when reinstalling 1C:Enterprise on server or client?
Or is there an update mechanism such that we do not need to reinstall?

Hello Saman,

8.3.6.2152 is one of the latest versions so no need to try on later releases. What version of ImageMagic are you using?

Thank you

We found the problem to be missing find tool (GNU findutils) on our server.
I guess it is just taken for granted but in our server configuration we did
not need it yet and due to our policy we only install packages and tools that
are necessary. In my opinion, the documentation should encompass such dependencies
explicitly to avoid these issues, however.

Best,
Saman
