Dumping and restoring infobases

You can dump an Infobase to a file or restore an Infobase from a file. You can use these features to create Infobase backups or restore Infobases from backups. Dumping and restoring Infobases is also used for switching between the file and client/server modes.

During the dumping and restoration the platform opens the standard "open file" dialog box.

Note that the restoration completely replaces the current Infobase with the Infobase being restored.

Administrators can automate the creation of Infobase dump-based backups by running Designer in batch mode.
