I have PostgreSQL for Mac, but I think there is no 1C: Enterprise Platform server edition, so we can not use MacOS.

Dear ercan aycan,

Indeed, Mac OS X is not supported as a server OS, it is only supported as a client OS:

Dear 1c.

The rpms of PostgreSQL for linux x32 does not have any startup script, so there is no way I can register it as a service. Is it correct or something is missing in this distribution?

Obviously we could write those scripts by ourselves, but it seems to me that is more logical that those script are included in distribution, like when you download Postgres from official PostgreSQL site.

Dear Alexey,

Typically, such distribution packages include startup scripts.

Could you please specify which particular distribution package (and version) for which Linux OS you mean?

Best regards,
Vladimir Gurov

Dear Alexey,

PostgreSQL 9.6.1-4.1C (RPM for x32 Linux) does have a startup script.

Be sure that after you install the RPM packages of PostgreSQL, you run the following commands to initialize PostgreSQL and register it as a service:

/usr/pgsql-9.6/bin/postgresql96-setup initdb
systemctl enable postgresql-9.6

Alternatively, you can get the same result by running the following command:

/usr/pgsql-9.6/bin/postgresql96-setup initdb postgresql-9.6

Best regards,
Vladimir Gurov

Thank you.

I was trying different options of etc/init.d, systemctl, but without dot in the postgresql version.
