Process string in DCS report

I have not necessary information in item descriptions and when I create a report for them, I would like to remove text in parentheses from descriptions to make a report look prettier.
Are there regular expressions in queries or how can I do that for report built using DCS?

In Expression column on Calculated fields tab you can specify a function of a common module.

I am agree, this can realize only through Calculated Fields, no in queries.
