Web client windows

• In Microsoft Internet Explorer, a modal window blocks all the parent windows while in Mozilla Firefox only the parent window of this specific window is blocked. At that the remaining windows of the application appear dimmed and while you can switch to these windows, you cannot execute any actions in them.
• When a modal window is opened, Microsoft Internet Explorer stops refreshing the main window. The behavior of the other windows is similar to the window behavior in Mozilla Firefox.
• When a user attempts to close a window that is blocked by another window in the web client, a standard browser alert containing the following message is displayed: This window can only be closed after you close all the windows opened from this one! Select Cancel not to close this window!
• The web client window cannot be sized under a specific size defined by the web browser.
• In some situations where other clients open a menu or selection list to select a value, the web client opens a new window.
• For reports generated using the data composition system, the details menu is displayed in a new browser window.

When an application is running on a computer with several displays, the behavior of web client windows can be described as follows:

• The main display behavior depends on the browser window behavior on computers with several displays.
• Each auxiliary, blocking, or modal window is opened in the same display as the last active window.
