What parameters I need to specify for such table to get correct opening and closing balances?

You can see all the necessary parameters for such a table in the screenshot (1).

BUT: if you don't set any of these parameters and make a query to this table, then in any case, you will get the correct values of the balances at the end and at the beginning of the period.

It's just that these will be the balances at the beginning of our company's activities and at the end, respectively.

If we want to get the balances (and turnover) for some specific dates, then of course it is necessary to set these parameters.

Another very important point! If we want to apply a filter to the data in this table (to make a selection), then we need to do it in the "Condition" tab (screenshots 2 and 3).

This method of setting the filter works faster than if we set the filter on the "Conditions" tab (screenshot 4):

What for Periodicity and ComplementMethod? Is there a comprehensive documentation about virtual tables parameters?

In general, you only need to specify these two parameters: the beginning of the period and the end of the period (pic. 1)

The "Periodicity" parameter determines how the data will be grouped when the query is running. For example, if we specify "Recorder", then the data will be grouped by the registrar of the register (pic. 2)

In your case, to get the correct balance values at the beginning and end, it will be enough to specify the periodicity of "Period" (pic. 3)

And yet - you can not specify the Periodicity value at all, this is not a mandatory parameter. In any case, you will receive the correct balances for the period you set.
