How to run 2 or more different versions of 1c on Linux machines. For example I would like to run 8.3.9 to run locally and 8.3.6. thin client to connect to remote server. I can not upgrade server and I need to use latest 1c platform version to run apps locally.

Alexey,

did I get it right that installing another platform version overwrites the one that is already installed?

Try the following:
1. Install version 8.3.6 and rename its directory.
2. Install version 8.3.9.

This gives you two directories with two different versions. You can run any one you want, or even both.
