I had a problem with my laptop and it failed with BSoD, now I receive Stream format error from 1C when I try to open an infobase. There are options to close and restart. What can I do to fix it? Is restoring from backup the only way to fix the infobase?

Your database is in File Mode?
Could you open it with Designer?

Yes, Lexus, it works in File mode and I can open it in Designer mode. But when I run it as 1C:Enterprise it fails with Stream format error.

First of all try to test infobase with Designer (Administration - Verify and Repair)

Try to use chdbfl.exe utility which is in bin folder

Which bin folder?

It's in folder where 1C:Platform is installed
For example, on my mashine it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\1cv82\8.2.15.319\bin"

I've found it, thank you! The infobase is opening in 1C:Enterprise mode now. But chdbfl.exe displayed messages that data in some tables is corrupted. What does it mean?

I suggest you to restore the infobase from a backup and use that one which you fixed with chdbfl.exe as a reference to, depending on the data amount, input or import the data which was added after the last backup. To be sure that you have no data missing.
