Hi,

I wanted to ask, is dynamic update is related with server calls of early opened sessions?

Why I asked this, cause I have minimum 40 working sessions. In designer mode  I change only one line script and update dynamically. Sometimes it is updated for some seconds, sometimes it may take several minutes, however I change a few things.

May it be related with server calls of early opened sessions?

There is no direct connection between the number of working sessions and the speed of dynamic update. Have you noticed a dependence of these two things of it was just guesswork?

A few questions on the matter:

1. Is it a Client/server mode of 1C? If so, what DBMS do you use?

2. How much is it since you did the last exclusive-mode update? How many dynamic updates have you done after that?

3. Have you checked servers’ performance counters during the slow updates? Is it a possibility that your system was out of hardware resources at the time of update?

Yes it is client server version, DBMS - PostgreSQL 9.2 64-bit package for Linux Ubuntu Server 12.10.

I do not know after how much update it tooks very much time. For example, we are at the moment that it may be minimum 10 dynamic update when 40 actual users are working. But I know exactly that, if I change DataCompositionSchema content and update dynamically, it takes approximately 30 minutes.

I did not checked yet, but I don't think that it will pass over the hardware recources, cause server have enough attributes for intensive work of much more users than 40.

1. OK, I need you to check out if situation changes after exclusive-mode update. Please choose a point when nobody is working with the system and perform an exclusive-mode (i.e. not dynamic) update. How will it effect on the consequent dynamic updates speed? Will they speed up or not?

2. How often do you update the configuration? Once a week? Once a day? Few times a day?

If in infobase no session are opened, update is very speedy.

Nowadays it's trasition period of our customer from another programm. So some days I need to update configuration when users are working more than few in a day (for example 20 times in a day).

P.S. I noticed it takes much more time if:
1. Update reports, in which I changed DCS of report (for this we try to not update reports dynamically :)).

2. Click dynamic update and immediately try to access to infobase.

It's noticed variants.

1. Do not get your answer for my first question. The question was: how exclusive-mode update impact on following dynamic updates? In other words I need you to do the following:

  • Perform exclusive-mode (not dynamic) update
  • Change something in configuration and perform dynamic update
  • Measure the time of that dynamic update and tell it to me

2. 20 updates a day – is way too much for the system went live. I suggest you package the configuration changes during a few days, test them and then update the live system at once.

Don’t get it. The initial topic was about slow dynamic update. Now you are referring to something different – slow system response AFTER the dynamic update, right?
How long does it last? I mean, how much time has to pass after the dynamic update for the system to speed up again?

Actually this symptom most probably points at hardware performance issue. So let’s get back to the idea of measuring it with Performance Monitor. Please collect all standard Performance Monitor counters during the dynamic update, save it to the file and send to me.

Try to use Configuration storage. Probably you have too much transactions to your DBMS. Therefore - try to do updates centralized once ore twice a day maximum.
