Just came Rating: 0 Joined: Jan 20, 2012 Company:	If you want to use more complicated numbering (e.g. ABC-001, ABC-002 etc) then select string type.

Just came Rating: 1 Joined: Dec 6, 2011 Company:	Code of type String is commonly used. I don't remember the case when I needed a Number code. Moreover, internal representation of the code is always a string. Choosing the number type will affect only on representation of the code for users.
