Finals of the Professionals Championship 2024: Real-Life Automation
In late 2024, Saint Petersburg hosted the Professionals Championship finals for the second year in a row. One of the categories was Business Process Automation for Organizations, where young 1C developers from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Colombia, and the Philippines demonstrated their skills.
The shift towards the use of 1C off-the-shelf solutions for addressing company business challenges began in the 2023 finals. At that time, the task involved significant functionality enhancements and integrating new modules with the core objects of a standard configuration. This year, the assignment was even more challenging: participants were required to automate the workflows of teams in an IT company and create an integrated solution based on a 1C off-the-shelf solution and a GitLab-managed IT project repository.
To accomplish this, participants utilized the standard solution 1C:Company Management, widely used for automating small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam. Additionally, the 1C:Subsystem Library (1C:SSL) and educational materials from the Skills Hub portal were available.
Despite significant time constraints and the complexity of the task, participants achieved impressive results. The international winners are:
- 1st place: Isaac Greyole Balingit, Philippines
- 2nd place: Deivid Farid Ardila Herrera, Colombia
- 3rd place: Ruslan Ivanovich Kabargin, Kazakhstan
Contests for young professionals consistently attract a large number of students and educators. Thus, this year the event gathered approximately 2,100 school students who participated in 164 master classes on 1C mobile development, conducted by students from digital departments of universities and colleges in Saint Petersburg. At the 1C booths, attendees could obtain current educational literature and discuss collaboration programs with 1C company representatives.
The 1C community congratulates the winners and looks forward to professional collaboration with all the finalists.
