Silent Mode for Updating the Thin Client over HTTP
In response to numerous requests from our partners and clients, we have implemented a silent mode for updating the 1C:Enterprise thin client over HTTP.
Currently, if the client and server versions do not match, before downloading the client update over HTTP, the user sees an interactive window with the suggestions Update and run and Run in web browser.
Experience shows that a large number of users prefer not to click anything (especially the Update and run button) and contact technical support.
In version 8.3.26, we have improved the thin client update system.
If the client and server versions do not match, the update will start downloading immediately, and the user will be shown an interactive window.
If the user does not take any action, the update will be downloaded and installed, and then the updated thin client will launch. If the user needs to open the application without waiting for the client to update, they can use the Run in web browser button. This will launch the web client, and the download and installation of the thin client will continue. The Run in web browser button is only displayed when connecting to an infobase over HTTP.
The system behavior will not change when installing an update from shared network resources, with background preloading of the update, or with the automatic removal of old versions.
We expect this functionality to reduce the load on our clients' technical support services and simplify the workflows of end-users.
