The Professionals 2023 Championship Finals. A Launching Pad to Promote a Mass Study of Standard 1C Products
The Professionals Championship Finals is a convenient platform for demonstrating best practices and conducting professional experiments. Business owners believe that one of the ways to ensure better training of business automation specialists is to expand curriculums with modules focused on studying standard products built on the 1C:Enterprise platform. The same attitude comes from students who are increasingly asking for this as they see that real-life automation in most projects relies on standard or industry-specific business applications.
A group of the strongest young 1C developers from Russia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, and the Philippines provided the best environment for such an experiment.
It should be noted that young professionals Nguyen Van Hung from Vietnam and Balingit Isaac Greyole from the Philippines were trained for the Professionals championship within the current 1C:Skills Camp Asia 2023 and were selected for the championship as the students who scored the best individual results in the 1st stage of the qualifying competition.
At the championship’s final stage, the contestants and experts received a real-life business task from a local office of a Vietnamese company that is involved in distributing and leasing complex equipment for creative projects in the field of education. According to the customer, each regional office already used a standard product for automating business processes. The task was to carefully refine the functionality of the current solution, implement a new module, create a mobile application, and then integrate all these new components into the main system.
The core product for the task was 1C:Company Management, a popular software for business automation and management accounting in small and medium-sized businesses in Vietnam.
The contestants were allowed to use the Standard Subsystems Library, educational materials available through the skillshub.1c-dn.com platform, and other 1C developer resources available at the 1C-DN.com portal.
As stated by mentors and experts, the task was challenging due to the need to deal with the client’s requirements AS IS, without tailoring the request with the assistance of a business analyst or professional developer.
The ability to hear and understand customers, as well as convey your ideas and proposals to them, is an essential skill for a business software developer. And it is this skill we intend to focus on in the new championship cycle and in the modified training programs in 2024.
The winners of the 2023 finals in the international standings are:
1st place. Darkhan Kaparov, mentor Ilyas Kopishev, Kazakhstan
2nd place. Balingit Isaac Greyole, mentor to Joey Manansala, Philippines
3rd place. Nguyen Van Hung, mentor Anton Shvyikovskiy, Vietnam
Prizes of 3,000, 2,000, and 1,000 USD were provided for the winning students and their mentors. In addition, the best contestants received the opportunity to find employment or intern at the partner companies of 1C.
Contests for young professionals always attract a large number of students and teachers. About 1,200 school students took part in master classes on 1C mobile development, which were conducted by students of departments of digital technologies of St. Petersburg universities and colleges. At the 1C stands, it was traditionally possible to get current educational literature and discuss the available cooperation programs with the 1C company representatives.
1C Company expresses gratitude to its partners for their cooperation in the preparation and holding of the championship and to all the organizers of the finals. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in 2024.
The 1C community congratulates the winners and looks forward to professional cooperation with all finalists.
