Dictionary entry

This form allows us to translate the dictionary entry and set for it detailed conditions that define more exactly in which cases this dictionary entry should be used.

The list of form items:

  • Main

    • Reorder translation words - changes the order of words in the translation to the opposite. If the dictionary entry is an identifier, words that this identifier consists of will be rearranged too.

    • Open Check terminology - opens the Check terminology data processor with filter by original text or translation depending on the currently selected form field and searches the value of this field.

    • Translate - translates the current dictionary entry automatically.

    • Check - checks spelling, syntax and style using the external proofreading application.

    • Translation - the dictionary entry translation.

    • Original text - the dictionary entry original text.

    • Previous translation - the previous value of the dictionary entry translation. This value can be used to cancel the last translation changes.

    • Comment - the additional information for the translator about conditions when this dictionary entry should be used.

    • Review required - if this check box is selected, this dictionary entry is highlighted in the list as requiring the manager review.

    • New comment - if this check box is selected, this dictionary entry is highlighted in the list as having new messages in its discussion.

    • Translation changed - if this check box is selected, this dictionary entry is highlighted in the list as having the translation changed.

    • Dictionary - the folder where this dictionary entry is placed.

    • Modified by - the user that was the last who changed the dictionary entry.

    • Modification date - the date when the dictionary entry was last changed.

    • Reviewed by - the user who was the last who cleared the Review required checkbox.

    • Review date - the date when the Review required checkbox was last cleared.

    • Text part type - one of the supported string types that are defined during the text parsing. If this value is set, the dictionary entry will be used only for strings defined as having this type during the text parsing.

    • Text before - can contain a regular expression, which allows selecting this dictionary entry depending on the text before the one that is searched in the dictionary.

    • Text after - can contain a regular expression, which allows selecting this dictionary entry depending on the text after the one that is searched in the dictionary.

    • Context path - the part of the text file name. The dictionary entry will be used for texts having the file name starting with this string.

    • Context section - the part of the path to the dictionary entry inside the texts. The dictionary entry will be used for text parts that have a path inside the text starting with this string. It is convenient to find the path to the dictionary entry using the Add selected original text part with context to primary dictionary button on the text edit form.

  • Dictionary usages
    • The list of texts where the dictionary entry is used. Contains the following columns:

      • Text - the text where the current dictionary entry is used.

      • In original text - the number of occurrence of the current dictionary entry in the original text.

      • In translation - the number of occurrence of the current dictionary entry in the translation.

  • Dictionary discussions
    • The list of messages in the discussion of the dictionary entry. Contains the following columns:

      • Comment - the message.

      • Author - the message author.

      • Modification date - the date when the message was added or modified.
