General settings

  • Description - the visual presentation of the project.
  • Type - depending on the project type different algorithms are used.

    • Translation of a book - the project, containing Word texts in a hierarchy of sections. During import, .doc and .docx files are split into texts by headers.

    • Translation of articles - the project, containing HTML texts in a hierarchy of sections.

    • Writing a book - the project, containing Word texts in a hierarchy of sections. During import, .doc and .docx files are split into texts by headers. Translation functions are disabled and only text edit fields are active.

    • 1C configuration translation - the project, containing configuration files of 1C:Enterprise application. The index contains all strings, including source code of modules, this lets you translating source code.

    • 1C configuration interface translation - the project, containing configuration files of 1C:Enterprise application. The index contains only interface strings, strings in templates and help.

    • Java site or application - the project, containing Java application files, if you import .properties, .res, .xml, .html files, this lets you translating interfaces and help files of applications. You can also translate business process diagrams if import them in XML format, for example, .bpmn.

    • Custom project settings - you can specify detail settings of the project on Miscellaneous tab.

  • Source language - the language from which the translation is made.
  • Target language - the language into which the translation is made.
  • Online translator - contains settings of connection to the translation web service. Several popular web services are supported.
  • Create default folders - creates new folders for project texts and dictionaries if these fields are not filled. When you have more than one project, it is convenient to share dictionaries between projects. For example, all dictionaries having the same language can be shared between projects of translation of various books for the same application and share all dictionaries having the same language, except for the primary dictionary for all applications of the same company.
  • Schedule indexation - sends all texts of the project for indexation. After changing settings of project folders it is recommended to send texts for indexation.
  • Texts root - the group in the Texts catalog where project texts are placed.
  • Primary dictionary - the group in the Dictionaries catalog where dictionary entries for project texts are placed. Translation of texts are made using only dictionary entries of the primary dictionary. A single dictionary can be used in several interrelated projects. For example, when translation different types of documentation for a single application. This dictionary can be filled with the Subsystems Library translation dictionary from Russian into English.
  • Secondary dictionary - the group in the Dictionaries catalog, which is used as referential information to translate the primary dictionary. For example, when you translate the documentation, you can use the primary dictionary of the application interface translation as a secondary dictionary. This dictionary can be filled with the 1C:Enterprise platform terms dictionary from Russian into English.
  • Terminology - the group in the Dictionaries catalog, which is used to translate the primary dictionary. This dictionary is usually created manually and contains names of various general object types, for example, names of documents that are automated by the application.
  • Cache - the group in the Dictionaries catalog that contains the cache of online translator calls.
  • Comment - the project details.

During the translation of dictionary entries, first, the translation is searched in the primary dictionary, then in secondary and terminology dictionaries. If the translation is not found the online translator cache is searched. If there was no translation found in the cache or there is a part of a phrase that still requires translation, the online translator service is requested.
