Settings

This form contains general settings of the application. Those settings are applied for all users and all projects.

The list of form items:

  • General options - parameters that are designed to be configured during normal operation.

    • Projects - opens the list of all projects.

    • Users - opens the list of users. For application users there are roles Project manager, Editor, Employee, and Freelancer, the system administrator is created automatically during the initial filling when the application started the first time.

    • Languages - opens the list of languages available for translation. You can extend this list manually.

    • Online translators - opens the list of settings of access to online translation services. Microsoft (Bing), Google, Yandex, WorldLingo and Baidu are supported. Depending on the requirements of these services you should receive API keys and fill corresponding fields. The Get service access link opens a page where you can obtain those keys.

  • Show advanced options - parameters that are designed to be configured rarely.
    • Use user groups - if this check box is selected, user groups that allow you to divide users into groups are enabled. This is useful when you manage a large list of users.

    • Use enhanced text translation complexities - if this check box is selected, enables complexity coefficients by types of work in translation task and acceptance documents, if this check box is cleared the work amount calculated using only average coefficients.

    • Minimal word length for auto translation - sets the minimal length of the search string for various algorithms. When you search a string containing only one character, it can take a while. This restriction is used to prevent waiting for too long that are caused by searching for too short string. The recommended value is 3.

    • Check job schedules - opens the list of scheduled jobs. In this list only Join full-text search index, Update full-text search index, and Text indexation scheduled jobs should be active and started periodically.

    • Check indexation queue - opens the list of the indexation queue records. Normally the indexation is performed by the scheduled job and manual maintenance is not needed. When you import texts for a new project, the indexation queue increases a lot. In a few hours or days after that, depending on the project volume and the server hardware, the queue becomes empty. When users work with the application in peak hours it can contain several texts.

    • User who currently imports texts - contains the user who started text import, but did not finish it yet. In case if the import failed and this field was not cleared automatically, you can click the cross button on the right of this field to enable text import. This is required to lower lock conflicts during text import.

    • Text stored files - opens the list of text stored files, using list settings you can find stored files of project text.

    • Text type translation complexities - opens the list of translation complexity coefficients for various types of text.

    • Download automation data processor - download an example of an automation data processor that lets you automate by schedule long actions of text import, changing text state, sending to translation and export for large projects (over 5000 texts). The user who runs it should have enough access rights. You can run the data processor using the /C RunDataProcessor command line option. More details you can find on the form of saving the data processor.

    • Administrative tools - opens the list of general Infobase administration tools.
