Batch text attribute changing

Batch text attribute changing allows setting selected attributes for selected texts. This is convenient, for example, to set milestones or to set text states during the project setup.

You can define whether to apply values to the specific attribute or not. To mark the attribute to be changed, select the Change checkbox on the left from the value that you need to change.

The list of changeable attributes:

  • Responsible - the employee or free-lancer, which translates the text.

  • Milestone - the smallest milestone in which the translation should be completed.

  • State - the state of the translation that the text has.

  • File name - the file name for import and export as a file. To change it you have the following options:

    • File name prefix - the string that will be prepended to the file name.

    • File name postfix - the string that will be appended to the file name.

    • Copy from Original text file name - the file name will be copied from the original text file name.

    • Generate from Translation title - the file name will be generated as lowercased translation title.

  • Publication file name - the translation file name for publication to the site. To change it you have the following options:
    • Publication file name prefix - the string that will be prepended to the file name.

    • Publication file name postfix - the string that will be appended to the file name.

    • Copy from translation file name - the file name will be copied from the translation file name.

    • Generate from Translation title - the file name will be generated as lowercased translation title.

  • Main text - the text that is the main for the current text. It is used to group texts during the separation of large text into smaller pieces by headers.
  • Order - the sort order for texts, it is used during assembly of texts into a single file and during publication to the site.
  • Text type - the text type. On this value depends the text parsing algorithm, syntax highlight and the labor estimations.
  • Translation change date - the date when the text was changed in fact, if the text was saved, but the translation was not changed, this date does not update.
  • Comment - the additional information for the text. For example, you can notice here that there are differences between the translation and the original text, which were made advisedly.
    • Append comment - the comment value will be appended to the current comment of texts if this check box is selected.
