1. System and Software Requirements

  • iOS – version 5.1 and higher
  • iPhone – 3GS and higher
  • iPod touch – 3rd generation and higher
  • iPad – all versions

2. Installing, Updating and Uninstalling a Mobile Application

The mobile application is installed from the App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/ru/genre/ios).

Mobile application updates are performed using the application store tools.

In order to uninstall the mobile application, launch the App Store on the mobile device and delete the application.

3. Launching a Mobile Application

To launch a mobile application, find the required application in the list and click on its icon. In most cases the main window of the mobile application will then open. However, if the program is linked to several applications, a list of these applications will open. In this case, click on the application in the list to launch the application.

4. Working with an Application List

Open the application list to perform most of the following actions. Choose All applications in the main menu of the running application. The application list is also available after a mobile application is launched if more than one application is registered.

To change the order of the applications in the list, hold down the button in the right part of the line and drag the application to the required location.

4.1. Creating an Application

Perform the following steps to create an application for a mobile platform:

· Select the command to add the application.

· Specify the application name and click the Done button.

· The application will then be created when the window is closed.

4.2. Launching an Application

In most cases the main window of the mobile application will open. However, if the program is linked to several applications, the list of these applications will open. In this case, click on the application in the list to launch the application.

4.3. Changing Application Properties

Application properties can be changed in the specific window for this purpose. To open the application properties window, right click the name of the application and click >.

In the open window you can change the application name and launch (the Open button) or remove it (the Delete button).

Caution! Once the application has been deleted, the infobase data cannot be restored.

Caution! Once the application has been deleted, the infobase data cannot be restored.

5. Updating an Application

The mobile application is updated using the application store tools. After the application has been updated, previously created applications must also be updated. To do this, just launch the application.

If the database needs to be restructured during the update, a message requesting confirmation will appear. If you decline, the update will be postponed until the next time the application is launched.

You may also need to decline the update in order to create a database backup (see page 6).

5.1. System Interface

The mobile platform is designed to display one form at a time. A maximum amount of free space on the screen is allocated to the form. The first form seen is usually the desktop. Commands for opening other forms are found together on the main menu of the application. This menu also contains the commands for returning to the desktop, displaying information about the program and going to the application list. To access the main menu of the application, click Functions on the top left in the main window of the application.

The software supports standard gestures for zooming in and out.

5.2. Working with Forms

The software running on the iOS normally contains buttons within the headings. If the heading contains two buttons, they generally serve the following purposes:

· The button on the right is for the most probable action.

· The left part of the screen contains the button for returning to the previous form or declining an action.

· The main menu button is located to the left in the main window of the application.

IMPORTANT! The scrollbars on the mobile devices are not permanently displayed, which is why a form (a report or a table) may display only part of the information.

Both the form and the form’s elements can be scrolled. When scrolling through the forms, please note the following:

· If you start scrolling in an element and there is sufficient space in that element for scrolling, the scrolling action will stop at the end of that element.

· In any other cases the scrolling action will take you through the entire form.

Almost every form contains commands to perform certain actions in that form. The commands are often represented by buttons or hyperlinks within the form. The commands are very occasionally accessible through the specific All Actions menu that can be called using the button ≡.

The commands to open an auxiliary form are implemented through the specific menu that can be opened by clicking on the window heading, if that heading is underscored.

The form may contain tables, documents and charts. These objects may have detalization function. Detalization – is the action connected with cell value in the table document or chart element. It can be the opening of another form, creating or replicating a report, etc. Press the required cell or chart element to perform detalization. If the detalization is not supported, nothing will happen.

6. Inputting Text

Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the information. To activate the keyboard, press on the field where you wish to enter information. The return button switches to other fields without closing the keyboard.

The keyboard provides additional capabilities:

· The button for shutting down the keyboard.

· The buttons that switch to the previous/next input fields in the form (the same as Tab/Shift+Tab buttons on the desktop keyboard).

· The button to clear the current input field.

· The buttons to change input mode:

§ For the fields showing date and time:

§ Numeric input mode for date and time.

§ Wheels entry mode.

§ For the fields showing the numeric data:

§ Digital input mode.

§ Calculator mode: digital input mode and arithmetical actions.

8. Location on the Map

The mobile application can support working with the Apple Maps mapping application (address mapping).

In the mobile phone settings the geolocation service should be enabled.

9. User Messages

User messages are displayed on the specific panel. This panel is displayed only when it contains a message. If the panel is closed the list of messages is cleared. If the user clicks on the message the form element connected with the message will be activated. To reopen the list of messages, the user should repeat the action that caused the list to be opened.

10. Backing Up

Data backup is performed according to the mobile application used.

If the mobile application being used is not connected to the remote system, backup can be implemented by the mobile device’s operating system.

If the application can implement data synchronization with the remote system, we recommend that you execute such a synchronization. Whether or not you need to use system tools for backing up after synchronization depends on whether there is data in the mobile application that cannot be synchronized with the remote system. If there is no such data, and if issues arise, the application can be reinstalled and the initial data initialization from the remote system can be performed.

When the application is created, a folder containing application data is marked as “not for backup”. After the data is changed while working with the application, the folder containing application data is marked for backup. The backup starts with the system tools.
